Why use a local PMV tool instead of a cloud editor?

Every major cloud-based video editor prohibits adult content in their Terms of Service. Here's what actually happens when you use them for PMVs:

Cloud editors (CapCut, Canva, Clipchamp, etc.): Your clips are uploaded to their servers for processing. Content moderation AI scans everything you upload. NSFW content triggers automatic account bans. Your clips may be retained on their servers even after deletion.

Local editors (Onset Engine, Premiere, Resolve, etc.): Everything stays on your hard drive. No content scanning or moderation. No upload means no data retention. Your editing is completely private.

The specific advantage of Onset Engine over other local editors (Premiere, Resolve) is that it automates the beat-sync process. Other local editors give you privacy but require hours of manual work.

One honest caveat: Onset Engine does require a brief weekly license check (internet needed momentarily), but no media data is ever transmitted. It's just a license validation ping. Between checks, everything runs locally.
